Hurstville's Meridian Hotel has been presiding over Forest Road since it opened as the White Horse Hotel, in July 1927. In celebration of its opening, publican Samuel Wallington put on an open bar for the first two hours; serving up 600 gallons of beer - which roughly equates to 2727 litres or 6418 schooners!

Looking to the past to inform the future. Sue Rosen Associates researched the site of the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre from pre-contact, through colonial settlement to the 1950s; creating an account of the traditional land use and development on the site, culminating in the construction of the then - Liverpool Power House.

A small portion of the wharf broaches Goat Island proper, it is for the most part adjacent to the state listed Lot 3 DP 837195 comprising Goat Island. The wharf is now structurally unsound and a marine hazard.

The owner applied to the Court to have the order removed with plans for its demolition. The house is a remarkably intact Californian bungalow constructed in 1921 in the first phase of the suburbanisation of Coogee.
