Authors: Dr Sue Rosen and David Burke

Client: Private Client

The client's subdivision and development of their land at Austral, will disturb the ground surface. We were engaged to determine whether Aboriginal objects or declared Aboriginal Places are known to occur, or are likely to occur at 310 Sixth Avenue, Austral.

The main crops grown in the Hoxton Park area were citrus, stone fruits, grapes, cabbage, as well as other vegetables. Other farners grew potatoes, maize, sorghum, pumpkins, oaten hay and corn. The strong history of farming around Sixth Avenue Austral means that unfortunatley many Aboriginal cultural artefacts/places were disturbed by around 1810.
